Sturgis Motorcycle Museum - Preserving our Motorcycle Hertiage

Hall of Fame Inductee - 2002

Jay Leno has quietly spread the word on how rewarding it is to own and ride motorcycles.  His collection of 80 plus motorcycles includes a 1927 Harley-Davidson with sidecar, 1908 Pope, a Vincent Black Shadow, a Brough Superior and his Jet/MC C18 jet engine which he runs as a street bike.  Everywhere he rides, crowds gather and his motorcycle becomes a conversation piece.  His enthusiasm for riding also speaks to the “lifestyle”, the friends you ride with or meet along the way, and the freedom you feel when you’re in the wind.

Leno promotes the positive aspects of riding through his fund-raising efforts.  He has participated in California’s Love Ride for many years and recently worked to raise funds for the victims of 9/11.  He had celebrities autograph a new Harley-Davidson which was auctioned off with all of the proceeds going to the families of the victims and the heroes who took part in the rescue and clean up effort.

Jay Leno is said to like anything that rolls and makes noise.

In his spare time he enjoys working on his car and motorcycle collection and riding whenever he can.
