Paul Yaffe grew up in California and spent some of his youth riding his skateboard to local motorcycle events so he could see some of the custom Harleys and hang out with riders. His early passion for motorcycles eventually led him to attend Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix where he graduated tops in his class. He stayed in Arizona, partnered with two friends in the American Legend Motorcycle Company in 1991. In 1992, they started a parts manufacturing and distribution arm “Beyond Bolt-on.” By 1994, Paul decided to strike out on his own, bought out his partners and changed the name of the business to Paul Yaffe Originals.
Paul Yaffe has been designing custom motorcycles for almost 30 years and is known as an industry leader and a true innovator. In 2006, Paul opened a second business – Paul Yaffe’s Bagger Nation – which aims to provide all the custom parts and service to turn a Harley-Davidson touring bike into a custom bagger without sacrificing ride quality and reliability.
Paul and his custom bikes have been featured in hundreds of magazines both in the United States and abroad. He’s participated in Discovery Channel’s Biker Build-Off in 2003 against Indian Larry and again in 2006 against Dave Perewitz. He’s also had supporting roles in two other biker build-off programs. Most recently, Paul has been featured in a new show – Biker Battleground Phoenix –a 10-episode series on the History Channel. Paul’s bikes have claimed numerous awards. Paul is a 3 time “Trend Setter of the Year” award recipient and has won several engineering and product design awards.
Paul and his wife Suzy enjoy spending time with Suzy’s two grown children Ryan and Sarah, Suzy’s mom, Mary, and the newest addition to their family, Nash Yaffe who was born in April of 2013.
